The Missouri Constitution prohibits same-sex marriages and our state law does not recognize them, wherever they are performed. Other states have different Constitutions and different laws.

Two of the leading candidates for Missouri governor in November - one a Democrat, one a Republican - have recently been sparring over whether to file a brief with the California Supreme Court asking it to hold off enforcing its ruling legalizing same-sex marriages in California until after voters there have weighed in on the issue. In the end, a letter was sent to the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court.

I wish they were fighting over the skyrocketing cost of healthcare in Missouri instead.
