There are, I’m told, some conventions that count a lot more than others in terms of their effects on a local economy. One of those super conventions is the Annual Meeting & Exposition of the American Society of Association Executives and the Center for Association Leadership.
According to the CVC, hosting this mouthful of a convention is a huge deal: 20 percent of the execs who attend ASAE & The Center subsequently book a meeting of their own organizations in the host city. That’s why I flew to Washington as part of the team that successfully landed the selection. They’ll be here in 2011.
When you are stuck in a traffic jam on Washington Ave in March 2013, remember this post.
