The Cityʼs primary election will be held in March 2009. I look forward to telling my story directly to the voters. As I begin to prepare for that opportunity, I will be making some staff changes.
Jeff Rainford, currently my chief of staff and most senior advisor, will move over to my political operation from City Hall to direct the campaign. He managed my first citywide campaign in 1995 and my first mayoral campaign in 2001. I have asked Jeff and his team to take nothing for granted, and to put together a smart, organized, and aggressive campaign.Patricia Hageman, currently the City Counselor, will become my chief of staff. Patti has extraordinary judgment and proven leadership skills.Steve Kovac will become the acting city counselor. Steve is a veteran of City government who will direct the law department until Patti and Jeff return.
