More development notes:

  • First Contact LLC has just completed and sold a new home in the Mount Cabanne/Raymond Place historic district. 5190 Cass is the first of several homes scheduled to be built in the area. The Cass home has 4 bedrooms, 2-1/2 baths, and a detached 2-car garage. Barb Geisman says that the construction (and sale) of new homes like this in the historic district encourages others to rehab existing homes.

  • ABNA Enterprises, a minority-owned engineering business, is expanding its operations in the City with the purchase of an office building for the company’s headquarters at 4140 Lindell Boulevard. ABNA has proposed a $1.4 million renovation that will retain 70 jobs and add 10 new ones.

  • Habitat for Humanity is planning a second major project in the Jeff Vander Lou neighborhood. They’ll build twenty new homes in the vicinity of St. Louis Avenue and Bacon Street. Habitat’s first development in this area attracted the attention of HUD Secretary Al Jackson.
