New MoDOT Traffic Committee

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced a new committee today to help create and implement a traffic maintenance plan during the Highway 40 construction. The City and the County will be well represented on the committee. Someone from my office, the Downtown Partnership, the St. Louis Cardinals and BJC will participate. We are asking that the Forest Park institutions be included as well.

We will be representing the interests of motorists, businesses, cultural institutions, attractions, hospitals and emergency responders. We will give them a voice in this process. We hope MoDOT and the design/build team will listen.

This committee will not work if it is just window dressing. But, if all stakeholders have meaningful input in this project, it can be built with an acceptable amount of disruption.
