The boundary between the City of St. Louis and University City is not as clearly marked as, say, the US-Canadian border, but the "city limits" mean that a different police force works on either side of the line. Over the past several months, good cooperation between public officials on both ends of the popular Loop neighborhood has meant that neither municipality addressed the peace and safety issues along Delmar by herding groups of cruising youths into the other's jurisdiction. The geography means, however, that a decision by the Council of University City to roll its curfew on minors an hour earlier will likely mean that the St. Louis Board of Aldermen will have to do the same thing. Before they do, let's see what happens.
