Karen Foss has spent more time in my living room than I have. As the St. Louis market’s best-known and most respected TV anchor, Karen has been visiting our homes for more than 20 years. When I think of some of the region’s most important news stories, I can’t help but hear them in Karen’s voice.
On- and off-air, Karen Foss has been one of St. Louis’s most persuasive ambassadors. She has volunteered her time and considerable energy for children, for Forest Park, for disability rights, and for a variety of women’s health issues. Hearing that Karen plans to retire from KSDK at year’s end is like discovering that Gus won’t be selling pretzels or Dad won’t be making oatmeal cookies.
It just won’t be the same in my living room.
