Helen Weiss, the May Co. and Macy’s public relations exec who ranks after only the blues and burlesque in bringing excitement to St. Louis, passed away early this morning. She was 83. She will be missed.

Kim and I offer her surviving family — children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren — our condolences.

To honor Ms. Weiss’s own generous community spirit, I want to pass along her family’s request that there be no flowers and that contributions in her honor be made to one of the following organizations:
