Mayor Slay is in China. This blog item is by Sherry Wibbenmeyer:
After working 20 years for Guilfoil, Petzall & Shoemake I was given the opportunity to work with Mayor Francis Slay as his Special Assistant.
I have done that for 9 years now.
When I say that I have had some memorable times, I don’t want to get anybody’s hopes up. There is no book planned. Or movie.
If there were such a thing as an average day (and there hasn’t been one yet), I am attending events with or for the Mayor, scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, preparing the Mayor for meetings, helping constituents with issues or concerns, keeping the gate, and serving on boards for special events. And with colleagues ranging from Age Peers to younger-than-some-of-my-purses, I do some Mother Confessor-ing also.
(And, of course, there is the Office Tornado who sits in the office next to the Mayor’s.)
Being a part of St. Louis City Government is an honor, but the interesting kind.
