Nurses for Newborns need diapers. Please help if you can.
This is a virtual event. You do not have to show up anywhere. We just want diapers! The Nurses for Newborns diaper reserves have been 100% depleted. Every day their nurses do home visits to families with so many stressors that access to the basics are a challenge. NFN is in desperate need of diapers as well as other baby necessities... To give a sense of need, 25,000 diapers would be a 1/3rd of what NFN would ultimately go through in a week. Nurses for Newborns Foundation exists to provide a safety net for families most at-risk in order to prevent infant mortality, child abuse and neglect by providing in-home nursing visits which promote health care, education, and positive parenting skills. Nurses for Newborns Foundation provides services to babies who are born with medical problems, born to teen moms or born to mothers with disabilities/mental health concerns, or who are born into families who do not have money for even basic necessities. Most of us cannot imagine what some of NFNF's mothers go through. They sometimes have to decide whether to spend limited funds on food for the family or on diapers for the baby. In addition to medical care, they assist families whenever possible with donated materials needed for safe care, such as diapers, formula, baby food, clothing, bedding, and cribs. They welcome hundreds of volunteers each year who help manage the logistics of this work.
