Of the 10,000 or so children in the state’s foster care system, almost 2,000 of them woke up this morning in group homes or institutions.

Some of those children could be living with qualified foster parents instead of in institutions. The qualities that distinguish a good parent or foster parent have nothing to do with sexual orientation.

Common sense and state law make that clear.
