Steve and Mike Roberts, with the able assistance of former Comptroller Virvus Jones, are moving forward with their plan to redevelop the former Enright School property, which they purchased from the St. Louis Board of Education several years ago. The landmark school building will be historically rehabilitated as 70 market-rate apartments using federal and state historic tax credits, while the remainder of the property will be developed with 24 new single-family homes.

The Roberts plan to construct these new homes with a number of unique energy-efficiency features, including geothermal heating and cooling, that will qualify the homes for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the US Green Building Council. This unique and exciting development will set a new standard for Alderman Frank Williamson’s 26th Ward — and for the rest of the region.
