According to Men’s Health magazine, the City of St. Louis is one of the safest places in the entire country to dine out. St. Louis shared top ranking and an A+ rating with Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Richmond.
Health Director Pamela Rice Walker, who sent me the clip, attributes the City’s rank to her department’s quick response to all reports of food-borne outbreaks in restaurants, schools, and daycare centers; and strict enforcement of the state’s up-to-date Food Code. (She also mentioned that Kansas City’s C- ranked it 56th in the survey, but tempered that observation with the mischievous assertion that she wasn’t a competitive person.)
As an habitual eater, I am delighted with the results.
