Besides today’s welcome re-dedication of Downtown’s major department store as Macy’s, I have updates on several other development items:
The LCRA Board has designated Restoration St. Louis — one of the enterprises of Amy and Amrit Gill as the redeveloper for sixty-four properties in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood. The development includes the rehabilitation of residential, mixed use and commercial properties.Jacquin Studio Photography in the 2100 block of Olive Street is expanding its enterprise into an adjacent building to the east. JSP has successfully completed an eclectic rehab of the property currently occupied by the company, and is expected to create more than 15 new jobs in the expansion.With the support of Alderman Terry Kennedy, Wayman AME Church has formed a non-profit corporation to rehabilitate homes and build new homes in the Mount Cabanne Raymond Historic District, starting with the area immediately surrounding the church.Morganford Road, between Chippewa and Arsenal, is now attracting significant interest from people interested in opening new businesses. Up next? An art gallery, day spa, and restaurant in the 3100 block.
