St. Louis has taken a small step forward in improving our neighborhoods. A committee of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen has approved a bill that would encourage the City's planners and engineers to incorporate the principles of Complete Streets into new transportation project, when it makes fiscal sense to do so.
The basic tenet of the Complete Streets movement is that our streets should be built to accommodate everyone, and not just moving (or gridlocked) cars.
