Most of you know that I am moving — and all of you have moved at some time in the past. Remember the packing, the discarding, the boxes, the unpacking? Think of me sympathetically this weekend.

Here is some stuff that was on my desk earlier this week. Just don’t make me move it.

  • LaBarge Products, located at 3445 Bent Avenue, is planning an expansion due to additional defense product manufacturing opportunities. The company has nearly $500 million in bids pending with the Department of Defense.

  • Brian Travers, a developer/owner of light industrial/warehouse space, is moving forward with the rehabilitation of an LRA-owned industrial property on Farlin Avenue in the North Kingshighway industrial park.

  • The $2.2 million expansion of the Old Rock House restaurant and entertainment venue on Seventh Street into the Henderson salvage yard is now moving forward. It is expected that the salvage yard property will require significant amounts of environmental cleanup. The completed project is expected to result in 30 — 60 new jobs.

  • The street enhancement project on Salisbury in the Hyde Park neighborhood is also moving forward. The Missouri Department of Transportation has approved the Phase I preliminary plans and final drawings are being submitted this week their review. The streetscape work is expected to enhance the Salisbury commercial corridor as the focal point of the Hyde Park historic district and complement the recent completion of the McKinley Bridge across I-64 from the area.
