From the YD’s (no message from the YGOPs!):

Yesterday, the Young Democrats of Greater St. Louis and the St. Louis Area Young Republicans squared off in a charity softball game to benefit Cool Down St. Louis.

Event organizers, Martin Casas of the YD’s and James Knowles III of the YR’s called the game "a victory for both parties" as the groups worked to raise $10,000 for the are non-profit.

After nine innings in the hot St. Louis sun, the Young Democrats won the game 11-3. The last time the two groups battled in 2006, the Young Dems won 13-7, followed by a Democratic victory in the November general election. Could this be a hint of what is to come this November?

Donations can still be made to Cool Down St. Louis in the name of your team. Visit www.cooldownstlouis.org to see pictures of the game and make a contribution.
